After Valve Surgery
Regaining mobility after valve repair or replacement.
Whether surgical or catheter-based, valve procedures often follow a period of declining stamina. We help you make up the ground you lost before and after the procedure.
What Many People Experience
- Months of low activity before the procedure, then more afterward
- Weakness and slow walking speed
- Tiring easily on stairs or longer walks
- Trouble with transfers and getting up from low chairs
- Balance concerns, especially when tired
What Physical Therapy Addresses
- Strengthening that respects surgical precautions
- Progressive walking and stair endurance
- Transfer and balance training
- Home mobility and safety review
- A pathway back to your usual routines
Who It's Appropriate For
Patients recovering at home after valve repair or replacement whose care team has cleared them for progressive activity.
All patients complete clinical screening, and physician clearance is required before enrollment. Nurtura works alongside your cardiologist and any cardiac rehabilitation program you attend, never in place of them.
Where Care Happens
Virtual sessions from home, anywhere in California. For patients in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area, in-person physical therapy may be available when clinically appropriate or necessary.
Coverage
Medicare Part B in-network. Private pay rates available.
